My First Business 'Failure'

Jan 22, 2025

My business is not working. That's what I learned in 2024.

There were nibbles of success. One month it made $10k, but that didn't go far.

I built a video editing service for realtors. AI script generation + human editors.

Each new customer cost more in editors and didn't bring things closer to the next customer.

I kept hoping growth would make things easier. It didn't.

More customers brought more costs, less time, and little profit.

It was a good experiment. Is there a business here?

Maybe. But it probably won't make much more than you spend.

So, I'm off to new lands.

Good lesson though. Finding customers isn't enough.

You need the right business model. Ideally one where customers bring more customers. And scaling doesn't cost more.

The holy grail.
