One of my favorite Claude Code workflows as a PM.
Writing Jira tickets that don't suck.
Here's my setup:
- Rough idea in Claude Code
- Claude Jira Ticket skill (user story, acceptance criteria, testing steps, links to code in Github)
- Jira command line tool creates the ticket straight from Claude.
Takes 5 minutes to write tickets instead of hours. Most PMs user stories are totally disconnected from the actual codebase. Then waste time in meetings explaining what they meant.
My big breakthrough: Let Claude Code write Jira tickets using the code as context. It's really good at catching edge cases and making testing plans. Honestly...better than I've ever been.
Before: 1 hour backlog planning meeting every sprint, plus forgotten details that turned into bugs.
Now: Engineers grab tickets and ship. No meetings. No "wait, what about X?"
The only thing left to argue about is priority and strategy.
